Hello. My name is Suzanne. I first did an introductory TEFL course in London in 2005. I have been teaching in schools for the past year and a half after completing my CELTA course in 2016 as well as being involved in language swaps for almost 3 years with Spanish speakers.
I have a degree in American Studies (history based) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Adult Nursing from Kings College London.
My teaching style is dynamic and student centred. I prepare classes specifically for individual's needs. My aim is to have the student talking at least 70% of the time. I focus on all 4 learning skills but for me speaking is the most important. Teaching both informal and formal English to have the student be able to understand and talk like a native.
I was a nurse for almost 4 years so I specialise in medical English classes for nurses and doctors to help them improve communication with patients. I have also given classes to paramedics, pharmacists and psychologists and have a lot of medical English activities for use.
I have given many IELTS and TOEIC classes and can help students prepare for these exams. I have also delivered many business English classes in companies in the past year.
I like to use TED talks, VOX videos, news articles, grammar activities as well as my own work sheets in classes. I use a variety of materials to keep the class fast faced and fun for the student.
I am currently teaching children and adults in the mornings so I have experience of giving classes to beginner and intermediate level children and adults so I am able to teach all ages :)
I have experience in delivering many types of classes and I am a B2 Spanish speaker.
