Hi! my name is Liz, I love to travel, my favorite countries that I have visited are Greece, China, India, South Korea and Germany. I also enjoy cooking and going out to restaurants. I am currently living in my hometown in the United States. I earned a bachelor's degree in geography with a focus on health care from a high ranking research university in the US. I graduated May of 2019 making the deans list multiple semesters. I am planning to start an masters program in 2021.
I have a TEFL certificate I earned in November of 2019. While I was in college I spent two years teaching English to Adults who had recently immigrated to the US from East Africa. I also have two years of experience teaching English to children at a community center, where I primarily help the kids with their English homework. I have been learning Mandarin Chinese for multiple years now, which has helped me teach languages to other people, as I can relate to the students from my own experience. In the past I have helped individuals study for English tests and also work on conversational English.

Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative - Minneapolis, US
Taught English as a second language to illiterate East African Immigrants in Minneapolis. Held an independent position as I was teaching my own class of 6-10 students at the lowest level of English in the program. I built close friendships with the students despite the undeniable language barrier between us. I also developed a greater ability to work with individuals of a culture I was quite unfamiliar with previously.
