Hello, my name is Rodolphe, I am a French teacher. I lived and taught in Paris for a long time, but today I teach in Lisbon, Portugal, in a famous French Institute.
The first motivation I have to teach in e-learning is to get in contact with very different people, to enrich myself personally and to extend my experience with persons of all nationalities and all cultures.
One of the most interesting facets of e-learning is finding yourself in front of your student, in a private lesson, and having to call on his experience to help him best in his learning, because wether he is English-speaking, Lusophone or Sinophone, you don't learn a language exactly the same way.
It is therefore up to the teacher to think about the best strategy to make these lessons as profitable as possible for the student.
My program is widely inspired by the CEFR, the Common European Framework for language teaching, which, as we know, has essentially an action-oriented approach to this learning. "Action" means, for the learner, to be faced with real-life situations, of daily life, like shopping, talking about the weather, expressing an emotion for example.
The program that I set up for face-to-face in e-learning is based on a very large number of audio and written documents, drawn from different methods that I use daily to teach French in Lisbon. .
Working on these documents will allow you to be plunged in real-life situations, as if you were in a French-speaking country.
Depending on the student’s project, I can target a specific skill, such as improving oral comprehension, correcting pronunciation, speaking, or even producing written texts of very different natures.
In addition, at the end of each course, you will receive a summary file explaining the language points that we have seen together: grammar, pronunciation or speech acts.
So, « the ball is in your court », as we say in French, what about having a linguistic experience with me? Go ahead, click for a test session !
