⭐️ My name is Heeon. I'm a native speaker of Korean. I'm from Seoul, South Korea. I did my master degree of Korean studies in Ewha University and I got a Certificate in Korean Language Teaching to foreigners. [Passions] I love learning languages. I'm fluent in English and Japanese and I'm currently learning Chinese. So I think I know how to make and improve the learning process of languages much easier. Based on my experiences I build classes to be fun, simple and effective.  [Experience] I have taught Korean for 7 years to foreigners in Gangnam, Seoul. I specialize in from beginner to advanced level, business Korean and TOPIK which is a Korean exam. I have many experiences with all different types of Korean learners and levels, so any goal you have or want to reach, I can help you in effective ways. [Method] I'm teaching Korean in English, Japanese and Chinese for the starter and Level 1 of beginner. For Level 2 of beginner and intermediate level, I mainly speak in Korean during a class so that you practice more speaking. I can structure classes depend on your goal or your learning style. For example, if you would like to practice speaking, we can do more conversation-based on grammar or any topic you are interested in and want to discuss. If you would like to work on grammar, we can practice grammar parts with sentences. [Expectation] I couldn't say if you only take a lesson with me, you can speak Korean fluently very soon. But I can say if you take a lesson with me, I can help you improve your level of Korean, gain confidence when speaking and not lose your interest in learning Korean. [Contact] Any questions you have about Korean, please feel free to contact me. [Lesson Plan] Step1 : Korean Alphabet (based on understanding the principle of Hangul) Step2 : Basic structure to make a sentence Step3 : Making sentences using verbs and adjectives Step4 : Practice speaking on communication Step5 : Discuss topics which students are interested in

Hello! My name is Heeyoung, and I'm a native Korean living in France with a French husband! Because I lived outside my home country for so long, I deeply relate to those who are going through the same and I enjoy getting to know about my students on a personal level. I've had many students of different levels and nationalities over the last several years, and I look forward to meeting everyone who's interested in starting or continuing their journey in learning Korean. { TEACHING METHODS } 1. BEGINNERS Goal: Reading Korean effortlessly and feeling comfortable with basic conversation. - Hangeul (Korean alphabets) / Reading words - Pronunciation and intonation correction - Basic grammar including past and future tense / Informal polite form (-요) / Learning how to greet, ask questions and answer, and talk about locations, family, food, weather, your emotions and everyday life / Common expressions / Getting used to the different particles 은/는, 이/가, 을/를 etc. We'll learn basic grammar and sentence structures and practice reading and speaking through short dialogues. I'll be teaching mostly in English at first but I'll start to limit it whenever possible. 2. PRE-INTERMEDIATE ~ INTERMEDIATE Goal: Having longer free conversations about everyday life and on a given topic. - Getting used to different levels of politeness, mainly the honorific form (-시-) and informal casual. - Advanced grammar including reported speech and common sentence endings (-네요, -잖아요, -냐고요? -지요?) For this level, I'll be using textbooks with audios to listen to. I'll only try to use English when explaining grammar or something complicated.

Hello! I am Meena from South Korea. I am a professional Korean teacher and passionate language learner. I completed a program on teaching Korean in grad school and since 2013 I’ve been teaching many students from different backgrounds. The majority of my students work in business in Korea but I’m also teaching kids at the moment. I also taught in a Korean Language school in Canada for several months. *My thoughts on learning languages Since my passion is languages, I spend a lot of time watching polyglots’ videos in which they talk about effective ways for learning languages. They have different points of view regarding studying grammar, using flash cards, when to start practicing speaking and so on but one thing they all agree is that you need to do it every day. I couldn’t agree more on this point because I had amazing Spanish teachers before but I didn’t practice every day even though I enjoyed their classes. As a result, I remained in beginner level. *My goal for you, how to get most out of my Korean class What I can help you with is to reach you intermediate level in which you would be able to have daily, casual conversation without any major discomfort. I’m offering you more than just one hour class a week, which means you should do homework after class. I have a system where, aside from our weekly one hour class, you need to commit 10 min a day or more depending on how motivated you are to speak Korean naturally without spending too much time having to recollect what you learned. (Homework can be different depending on goals but the main idea of homework is to have you create relevant content based on what we covered in our previous session and to practice many times to get used to using the language.)

There will be some challenges as the path to fluency is not always a straight line. But the rewards and fulfillment from being able to communicate in a foreign language will serve you well for the rest of your life. It can open doors to so many new opportunities, adventures, meaningful connections, more earning potentials in your career as well as other good surprises. ________________________________________________________________________ But, if you're learning a foreign language, Have you ever asked yourself these questions? - Why did I decide to learn a foreign language? - What have I tried so far? What has worked and what hasn't worked well? - Do I have a structure in my study routine? - Am I keeping a good track of what I’ve learned in order to see whether I'm making a real progress? - Why do I feel trapped without making much progress even after months or years of studying? - Why is it so hard to reach any decent level of proficiency in language learning? ___________________________________________________________________________ Here are things that I can do for you in our lesson(s): 1. Show you the right tools for practicing Korean or English. 2. Help you design your study routine (if you don't have have one already) 3. Compliment your learning material by giving you practical information on how people really communicate in Korean or English. 4. Have you accountable for your homework, and review. 5. Help you form a strategy and tactics to learn any language. 6. Help you find potential native language partners to help you practice communicating with them outside our classes. 7.Help you overcome your psychological block in language learning. ____________________________________________________________________________ So why should you choose to work with me? After all, there are many teachers available. I suggest that you make a contact with different teachers and find out more about how they teach and how they can help you plan your journey in learning. You should probably choose to learn with a teacher that resonates with you the most. I do believe that I have an edge and if you're interested in learning with me, these are my strengths: ____________________________________________________________________________ 1.Strategic Approach to Learning Any Language: Each language has its unique challenges, intricacies and nuances. But the process of foreign language acquisition is a repeatable process. It's a skill that can be applied to any language you wish to learn. I can help you form a learning strategy that will make a difference in your learning. 2.Realistic/Result-Based Approach: We're living in an incredible era where technology is replacing a lot of what we had done manually in the past. This is all good for making our lives easier. But, let's face it. People are now conditioned to what's fun and distracting rather than being strategic and process-driven to producing results. In this quick-fix, dopamine-driven, fast-paced world that we're living in, it's paramount to deliberately focus on our tasks to get things done which requires thoughtful planning and patience. Learning a foreign language is no exception. It requires a lot of work and attention at the beginning as you're conditioning yourself to think in another language. (Just think of how many years it takes for babies to speak even the simplest words.) 3.Bilingual Teacher I'm fully-bilingual in both English and Korean. I can help you understand many ideas in grammars and cultural and historical information about Korea as well as offering instant translation during lessons. (FYI: Often between English and Korean, translation can only be an approximation and not always a word-for-word match.) 4.I'm a life-long student of foreign languages. I have studied many languages and am capable of communicating in at least 4 languages. _____________________________________________________________________________ What I ask of you: 0.IMPORTANT: If you book a lesson with me, I expect you to have some basic understanding of Korean (Hangul, few basic verbs & phrases) 1.Set your language goals and make a decision to be very proficient 2. Be pro-active in your learning; don’t expect the learning done onto you 3. Review your material and be creative with how you practice (I can help you with this) 4. Apply what you’ve learn in lessons as soon as possible into practice. 5. Connect with other students learning the same language(s) and definitely make an effort to connect with native speakers. *If you enjoyed our lesson or if it was helpful, please leave a feedback afterwards. It will help me bring more quality lessons to you and other students." ____________________________________________________________________________ Housekeeping Rules: *Please note that if a student is absent for a lesson, there will be no refund. *Should you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please contact me at least 12 hours in advance. *Please ensure that you have a good internet connection and audio/visual setup. _____________________________________________________________________________ A Little Bit About Me: - My name is Han. I'm 35. - I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea until I came to Canada when I was 17. - I’ve been teaching English and Korean for the past 5 years (with 4 years @ Verbling). - Learning languages has been one of my lifelong pursuits. - I have spent thousands of hours learning different languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, some Italian and some Russian. - I’m fully bilingual in English and Korean (I teach both languages) - Semi-fluent in French, conversational in Spanish and have some understanding and knowledge of Portuguese. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (한국어) 여러분은 언어를 공부하면서 가장 힘든 것이 무엇인가요? 모든 사람들은 다 모국어를 습득하고 모국어를 유창하게 사용하지만, 왜, 외국어 공부는 그렇게 힘들까요? 여러분들의 언어공부 방식에 연습과 체계화가 되있나요? 그리고 언어공부의 목적과 앞으로의 계획은 어떻게 짜여있나요? 혹시, 언어공부를 몇 번 포기 한 적도 있나요? ___________________________________________________________________________ 저는 모든 일에는 계획, 전략 그리고 연습의 방법 이 중요하다고 생각합니다. ___________________________________________________________________________ 또, 수업이 끝나고 여러분들은 자신 나름대로의 연습을 합니다. 하지만 어떻게, 어떤 부분을 연습해야 꾸준한 발전이 있는 것일 까요? 사람들마다 조금 씩 차이는 있지만, 연습에 관한 계획과 전략을 도움 드리습니다. ___________________________________________________________________________ 안녕하세요. ____________________________________________________________________________ 학생분들께 제가 해드릴 것: 1. 레벨에 따라 영어발전의 필요한 확실한 과제, 도구. 2. 영어를 배우는데 필요한 연습과 공부를 과정의 디자인. 3. 실시간 실용적인 영어회화, 단어의 연습 4. 과제, 수업 후의 개인 적인 연습 방법 지도 5. 언어에 관계없이 언어를 배우는 방법을 지도 6. 언어를 배우는데 같이 연습하는 사람들을 찾는 것 도움 __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 학생분들에게 요구하는 것: 1.자신에 나름대로의 영어에 관한 목표 2.참가적인 학습태도 3. 개인 수업후의 복습과 실용적인 연습 4. 영어 원어민, 같이 영어 공부 할 사람들 찾기 __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (참고) 몇 가지 관리사항: 1.수업에 참가하시지 않으면 환불이 없습니다. 2.수업시간의 변경을 원하시면 수업 12시간 전까지 연락을 부탁합니다. 3.수업에 필요한 비디오, 오디오를 준비 해주세요. 4.수업이 도움됬거나 수업이 좋았다면, 꼭 피드백을 부탁드립니다. 계속 좋은 레슨을 드리도록 할께요. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 감사합니다. 수업에서 뵈요
