I am a native English speaker and am currently traveling with my husband, devoting all my time to freelance work and English tutoring. My teaching career began in South Korea back in 2013 tutoring university students. Since then, I have continued to teach in South Korea at a private English academy and most recently, at a Korean Elementary school. Hello. I'm Patrick, a TEFL certified and professional/qualified/registered English teacher (in both Canada and New Zealand) with almost 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages and backgrounds in both formal and informal settings. I can help you with the following (and much more): test preparation (experienced in IELTS, CELPIP, Cambridge, Pearson, GESE and TOEFL preparation); pronunciation and grammar assistance; accent reduction; meaningful conversations with vocabulary assistance; Business and Academic English; reading and writing comprehension and practice. I look forward to being able to help you in your learning journey with lessons tailored to your individual needs, as we work together to improve your skills and confidence in using English. Learning can be both challenging and interesting at the same time, so I personalize a lesson as much as possible. My style is based on patience and instructional scaffolding, just as I would do in my classes in a formal school, so learners of all abilities always have a chance to improve as we gradually and methodically develop your vocabulary, comprehension, pronunciation, and grammar skills, as well as your abilities in reading, writing, and listening. At the same time, classes move quickly once either a foundation for learning has been established or work has been mastered, using a mix of discussions and questions, listening and writing exercises, activities from various textbooks, pronunciation practice, vocabulary building work, and presentations of various types. So, if you need help studying or a test or to succeed in your chosen field of work, would like to improve your abilities as a beginning student, or simply want to have a chat to maintain and improve your conversational abilities, I look forward to hearing from you soon! * I also teach lessons for classes of students, so please feel free to ask about this, and other teaching options, if you are interested.
Greetings, I am teacher Dale and I’m from the United States. I have been away for a while, but I am now back to help you with all your English needs. I’ve been teaching English for over 18 years and I have a master’s degree in TESOL. I started teaching in Korea in 2000. In Korea I taught in both public and private schools, but mostly in a public elementary and middle school. I also had duties with the office of education, doing teacher training and organising activities for students. After Korea I spent a year in Singapore teaching at an international college. Currently I’m the head master at a large international English school here in the Philippines. I’ve been at this school for the past 10 years, and teach students of all ages from many different countries, such as China, Korea, Japan and Vietnam to name a few. I believe in context teaching, which is teaching by seeing the language in use, rather than just memorizing lists of words. Thus, I not only teach the vocabulary and phrases, I show you how it’s used. I teach grammar the same way, after learning the rules, we practice it in use. I find that this strategy works well with both adults and children. I’m also qualified to teach both IELTS and TOEIC for speaking, writing, and I use a wide variety of teaching materials, from books that I wrote myself, to printed material from Oxford and Cambridge, depending on my student’s needs. Above all though, I keep my lessons fun and interesting, this is essential, because a bored student isn’t a student learning. Any way that’s my introduction to you. I Hope to be your teacher!

Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile! A few things about me: I was in the military (Navy) for a year, and I've worked several other jobs over the years. I've been backpacking around Europe and Asia, and my life goal is to travel the whole world!! I like anything adventurous and fun!! I also really enjoy helping and working with others. My 3 favorite things in life.. Cats, chocolate, and coffee! I'm very understanding, extremely open minded, friendly, and easy to get along with. I lived in Italy for awhile and struggled with learning Italian while there. I don't remember much now, though, since I didn't continue to practice it. Because of this, I understand the struggles of learning a new language. My parents lived in Germany for 6 years, and I would stay with them off and on a lot. I am now hopping around different countries all over the world. My teaching style varies from person to person and even on subjects. People learn things differently. I like to teach the best way for people to understand. Take me for example, I learn best by writing things down or just doing things. I pride myself on teaching more natural English rather than 'textbook' English. Some things I use in lessons: Reading (helps improve pronunciation and builds vocabulary), giving writing assignments as homework to correct together (works on improving writing skills and grammar), picture description (works on improving sentence structure and learning new adjectives/nouns), and idiom/phrasal verb practice. I look forward to meeting you! :)
