I am Shaista Dhanda, and I have been teaching English to students of all ages since 2010. I have a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s degree in English, and a professional degree in Education, all from excellent universities in India. My style of teaching is conversational and interactive, and my classes are individually designed according to students’ needs and time. I focus on the development of speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills, as well as proper pronunciation and vocabulary enrichment. I love to travel and meet people from different backgrounds. I also love to read books, write poetry, and share stories with friends around the world.
Hello! My name is Mr. Kat Rogan. I am a native English speaker from the United States and I have been a professional language trainer for over 14 years for all age groups and levels of learning. I started teaching English in China at Dalian Maritime University in 2006. Since that time I have traveled to many countries, and have met and talked to just about every nationality you can think of. As and traveler, educator, and avid learner, the biggest thing I can say I have discovered about myself during this time: I really love languages and cultures. For me, learning languages and about people and their heritage is the "spice of life." This is what truly drives me to be a better person, keep moving forward, and improve at all levels of my life - every day. It's interesting, during these travels and experiences of the past decade-and-a-half, I have learned how to say basic concepts and greetings in at least 10 languages, which is a lot of fun and a big talking point in my day to life. People often ask me what my favorite language is. And after English, of course, I would usually say, it would have to be. 2. Chinese 3. Spanish 4. Thai 5. Japanese 6. Italian 7. Russian And more. (don't forget my adopted brother from Portugal - what's up Duarte) There are many languages! And really love to talk about them! But, at the top of my list is Chinese. I spend a lot of time practicing Chinese. Being a 4000-year-old civilization, there are endless amounts of wisdom, knowledge and culture to be found in this language. So, for me, it's a lifetime journey/mission to understand more about this language, culture, and people. I also love Spanish. Born and raised in the United States, Spanish is my second language. I studied Spanish in high school and university, but I know I need to improve. Though I can understand quite a bit of what is being said in Spanish, my speaking does need some practice. Spanish is spoken quite quickly. So, I know how much I need to improve. I also know how important it is to keep practicing my speaking ability with Spanish, as with any language. Though I am not too bad at speaking languages, I do know the feeling of not being able to speak at the level I would like. So I keep trying to learn new methods and systems of learning. And I really like to learn more about people, and their cultures. This is why I love learning languages. And this is also why I really love my job as a language trainer, teacher, or coach. So I hope to make your acquaintance and have many lessons with you. Kat Rogan Qualifications & Experience My education encompasses a long career as a news reporter and journalist as a Mass Communication student from the University of Utah. I also have a degree in Business Management from Weber State University. My master's education is in Multi-Media Film, MFA. I specialize in all forms of professional communication in business, interviewing, writing, examinations, basic conversation, and kid's phonics training. And I am TEFL certified to teach children. Having been a language trainer and learner for 14 years, I have taught thousands of students from around the world. In my experience, I have developed dedicated lesson planning systems, specifically designed for the student depending on their needs. Interestingly, I have found many ESL students with difficulties reaching their true potential. I have also found traditional models of learning to be rather rigid and outdated for progressive thought in the high-paced technologically-driven communication world we live in today. These issues are very important when it comes to speaking at high levels or high-pressure situations. My system brings together the best learning programs into one comprehensive lesson planning system and is adjustable to each specific need and goal of the learner. Some of my classes have helped my students to pass entry exams, get great jobs, get into great universities, succeed at all levels of speaking, writing, and communication for professional and interpersonal use all while having fun. My classes are fun, and I really love teaching that's why I still do it after all these years. Hi I am a 12 -year-veteran Language Trainer/English Teacher, who believes that all students can master English with hard work and a good foundation. I have been teaching general/business English, oral communication and exams preparation classes to students with levels from A1 to C2 in Spain for 11 years. I am familiar with ACTFL and CEFR requirements. I have given business English classes in major companies in Spain such as "Endesa" and "Accióna" as well as in the military headquarter. I have worked with children (from 3 to 17). They tend to have classes with me until they enter into university and some at university. General/Business English All lessons are designed around the core elements of English and taught within a real-world context. Various types of pedagogical tools, materials and methods are used in the classes so that students start talking and interacting with English in a natural way from the first class. Classes are student dominant, i.e personalized for each student and are directed towards students maximizing their oral skills (regardless of level). Also students are taught to analyze their errors and to supply the solutions. With this approach, students build confidence and see English as a natural part of their lives. This is an essential element for continuous advancement. Official Language Exams All lessons and materials used adhere to the American and European framework for these exams. I strive to create an class environment that is dynamic, productive and fun. I encourage students to give me feedback about the classes to make sure that their needs are being met. Of course, I provide AN on-going evaluation of their progress.
