Did you study English for a long time in school, but haven’t used it much since? Do you feel like you can read and listen very well, but when it comes time to speak you can’t express your thoughts? I know it’s hard to truly be yourself in your second language, and I’m here to help by offering friendly conversation practice with crucial corrections and suggestions. I'm a stand up comedian, and I want to help you be confident while speaking English. Because I have a lot of experience with public speaking, I can help you choose the right words and delivery for your next speech or presentation. I had a career in brand development in the past, so if you're learning English for business, I can relate to your stressful, busy lifestyle. I want our lessons to be fun and funny! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me as much advance notice as possible! If you don't show up to your lesson, I'll be waiting 15 minutes to see if you are just running late. I prefer the student pay me for this missed time.

Are you an artist? Is it difficult for you to speak or write about your work in English? Do you want to improve your critique skills? I can help! I have a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, a master’s degree in TESOL (teaching English), and I taught English for almost five years at an art university. During that time, I helped art students learn to speak confidently about their work, critique it, and write about it. In addition to my fine art background, I have worked as a freelance graphic/web designer for 20 years. I have helped students/clients in these majors/mediums: Advertising Animation Architecture Art History Communications and Media Fashion Fine Art (Drawing/Painting/Printmaking/Sculpture) Game Development Graphic Design Illustration Industrial Design Interior Design Jewelry Design Motion Pictures/Television/Acting Music Production Photography Visual Development Web Design If art is your passion, I can help you to speak, critique, and write about it in English. I work with clients at beginner, intermediate, and advanced English levels. Check out my courses and videos to see what I do!

*** CURRENTLY TAKING ON NEW STUDENTS*** My name is Chris, I’m from London, England, and I love teaching English as a foreign language! I'm a professional teacher who has been teaching since 2012 and I want to make your English learning experience unique and get you to fluency as quickly as possible. After years of experience, research and listening to student’s feedback, I believe that there are 5 principles that make you learn languages fast and effectively: 1. CUSTOMISATION - Learn what you want to learn and get personalised feedback from a professional at the end of a class and in a video within 24 hours of your class. 2. MAKING MISTAKES WITH DELAYED ERROR CORRECTION - Build up your confidence and fluency and find out what wasn’t correct later. Repeat your corrected sentences and vocabulary after class with an audio track. 3. MAXIMISING SPEAKING TIME - Maximise your precious class time by speaking as much as possible and get to fluency more quickly. 4. MOTIVATION - Keep your excitement for learning and avoid those moments when you feel bored of learning. 5. ACCELERATED LEARNING TECHNIQUES - Let me use my skills, activities and games to make your progress quickly in an area of English you are weak in. I’d love to see you in a class if you are considering taking classes with me, and I’d be very happy to help you on your journey into the world English. I’ve had some wonderful first classes and met so many great people throughout the world since I’ve started teaching online, and I’d be delighted if you were one of them. Most people understand what the trial lesson is, but it’s not always clear to everyone. Please just look at the points below to check you know what you are booking. Before your first session starts please consider the following: - Using a microphone with earphones or a headset will give much better sound quality to your lesson. Using computer speakers will probably result in echoing. - Google Chrome seems to be the best browser for Verbling Video. - Doing a test call on Skype with a friend or family member will give you a good idea of how strong your connection is, and if it is sufficient for a class on Verbling. If the speech isn't clear, try turning off the camera. If the speech still isn't clear, try to reconnect. If you are still having problems, upgrade your internet connection. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE TRAIL LESSON IS: - A 30 minutes introduction class. - An opportunity for you to see how the lessons work. - An opportunity for you to ask me any questions. - A way for us to create a plan for your learning goals. - A way to test your internet connection - Occasionally the connection can be problematic for some new online students. - A way to get to know each other. THE TRIAL LESSON IS NOT: - A cheap way for you to get your CV or written work corrected. - A lesson which is focussed on the areas in which you need to improve. - A cheap way to get a 30-minute conversation class with the active intention of not continuing. Of course, if you decide that I am not the right teacher after the class and you wish to find another teacher then that is perfectly fine. N.B. I exercise the right to accept or refuse to give lessons to certain individuals.

I began teaching `7 years ago, to younger students at my local church, everything from basic English to math, and from there I helped tutor autistic students at my school, and then went on to teach younger kids at an after school camp. However I really began teaching language specifically over the past 3 years living in Ecuador, where I taught Ecuadorian students English as well as English students Spanish, I have also taught over 160 hr of English online. I take a holistic approach to learning and teaching a new language, meaning that I do not believe there is only one best way to learn a langue, but I do believe that there is a cretin order of operations. What I like to help students with who have very little skill levels at first, is to identify the key words, the words which are most common, and the words that link words together. From there I will help my students with learning the most used verbs and the basic conjugation of those verbs, with different charts and pictures to aid in the memorization. The more words and phrases my students learn I will begin to go more in-depth with basic grammar, and common styles of conversation. I always try to correct my students when they make grammatical or pronunciation mistakes, so that they don't make a habit out of it. Conversing with my students at this point is extremely beneficial to their progress and speed of learning, because through conversing in a language it is one of the fastest ways to learn and memorize it, especially when you have a dedicated teacher to converse with and give you constructive feedback. I will talk with my students about themselves, day to day activities and what they find interesting, challenging, or exciting, I believe the more I can make the learning process fun and interactive for my students the faster and more efficiently they will learn the language, so I try to avoid topics that will bore or discourage them. My goal is to not only be a teacher to my students but also an encouraging supportive friend.

*** Accepting new students. Please note the change of time zone *** __ __ __ Hello my name is Lewis and i'm a native English speaker from the United Kingdom! :) My classes are well-organised, well-planned and student orientated, as well as educative and dynamic. (See my ratings!) My teaching style is relaxed and encouraging and I structure my classes to meet the needs and goals of the student (which we can briefly discuss during your first class). If you want to practice your speaking more, we'll do more speaking activities. If you’d prefer to improve your vocabulary, perfect your grammar or even improve your pronunciation, then we can! And, if you don't know which areas you need to improve, I will choose the most appropriate activities based on your level, and mistakes that I notice throughout our classes together. I also give homework every class (if you want it of course), so you can practice the grammar or vocabulary that we looked at during the class. Unless I’m giving a homework activity related to what we studied during class, generally I prefer to send 'listening', 'reading' and 'writing' activities as homework. It does't make sense for you to buy a class and for you to spend half of the class reading something or listening to a track! That’s why I prefer you to practice those skills in your own time, with my help. I can help you with: - exam preparation (I have most experience with IELTS) - improving your fluency and confidence when speaking - pronunciation and accent reduction - expanding your vocabulary - perfecting your grammar - your listening, speaking and writing skills - British and American slang, idioms, phrasal verbs and expressions (especially helpful if you live, or plan to live in an English speaking country) and much, much more. Reserve a class with me and start improving your English now! Thanks for reading! __ __ __ PLEASE NOTE: I will be unavailable for classes between October 20th and November 20th 2018.

Hello Verbling students! I live in the United States and I love teaching my native language. I'm also a self-taught Spanish speaker so I understand the challenges of learning a new language as an adult. Let's chat! Send me a message or book a trial class with me so I can find out exactly what you need to take the next step on the road to fluency. Have a great day and I'll see you in class! (Many thanks to my friend Max for the Russian part of my profile.)
