CPE - 영어 전문 원어민 선생님
Hello! My name is Chris - I'm a highly experienced and passionate English teacher from the UK. I specialise in helping higher level students to take their English to the next level. I'll provide the support you need to meet your specific goals, whether you need to improve your spoken fluency and confidence, elevate your vocabulary, learn more idiomatic language such as phrasal verbs and expressions, identify and fix your grammar problems, improve your pronunciation or prepare for an English exam. I am a highly qualified and experienced teacher. I have now been teaching English for 9 years, and I continue to find it a hugely enjoyable, constantly challenging and deeply rewarding profession. I love my job, and I think you'll find that this comes across in my teaching! I obtained the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from International House Buenos Aires in 2010, and the Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) from British Study Centres in Oxford in 2013. I constantly seek to develop and improve my teaching. I studied Philosophy at Cardiff University, graduating with a First in 2007. I then studied for a Masters Degree in Latin American Development at the University of London, achieving a Merit in 2009. My 9 years of teaching experience has encompassed a wide range of levels from intermediate (B1) to advanced (C1) and proficiency (C2). I have taught both General and Business English, both in groups and on a 1-to-1 basis. I have also helped many students to pass the Cambridge First (FCE), Advanced (CAE) and Proficiency (CPE) exams, as well as the IELTS exam. I'm originally from North Devon (definitely the most beautiful part of the UK!) but over the years I have lived and worked in places as diverse as Oxford, Buenos Aires and Bogota. I enjoy doing lots of things, especially cooking, reading, learning Spanish, walking and running. More recently, I have been spending a lot of time looking after my baby daughter! I also love meeting and getting to know new people - this is a big reason why I enjoy my job so much.
My name is Karolina and I have been teaching English to both children and adults for over 23 years in various countries and organizations. With a great deal of blood, sweat and tears and of course, love, I also built my own online English language training company which had always been a dream and goal of mine. Parallel to that, I joined Verbling 5 years ago and continue to love working here! My love and passion for the English language has been a constant in my life and has over the years developed into a deep interest to help as many language learners reach their learning goals as possible. As an ambassador’s child, I had the privilege and joy of visiting and living in a number of incredible countries and living the life of a nomad! Being born in Switzerland and moving to Canada at the age of 3, English quickly became my native language. My parents, realizing that English would not only be an asset but a necessity growing up in various countries, chose to enroll me in American International schools throughout my school education. I have rich and beautiful memories of growing up in South Africa, Greece and as a young adult moving to Germany and then later The Netherlands. Over the course of these years, my love of the English language only grew and deepened, and at a very young age I embarked on the path that would eventually lead me to where I am today: a teacher who truly loves what she does! As a teenager, I first fell in love with the language through poetry and literature, immersing myself in the beauty of words that I felt could almost magically create new worlds and capture feelings. This led me to my own experimentations with poetry and writing which to this very day are things I enjoy dearly and are very important to me. I was fascinated at how language allowed people to communicate with one another, brought people closer together and managed to bridge incredible gaps. As time went by and I began moving from country to country I also very quickly understood how valuable English was as a language and as a tool. Being the only common language everyone spoke in many of the countries I visited, I realized just how incredibly important it was to have a grasp on the language if I wanted to truly communicate with and understand others. Fast forward twenty years and this is more vital than ever before. In a world led by globalization and one where the international language of commerce is English, having the ability to speak English is truly no longer an asset but rather a necessity. As a young adult in Germany, I came to the realization that I wanted to turn my passion for the English language into a career. From that moment on, I invested my time and energy into attaining my goal of becoming an English teacher. I took my first step by gaining my CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) which then led me to my first teaching positions at language schools in Berlin. Over the years I taught both General and Business English in various companies including Wall Street School of English, Ebay Germany, Jaguar and Thyssenkrupp among others. I soon followed my certificate with an Advanced Diploma in Applied Linguistics and eventually a Masters in Education (Applied Linguistics), solidifying and expanding my knowledge on the foundations of the English language, how it developed over the years and how we can as teachers successfully help others learn the language. I continue to further educate myself at every opportunity, most recently completing the “Foundations of Virtual Instruction” course through the University of California. I realize that the face of education is rapidly changing and moving ever more towards online learning; more accessible and flexible learning. It is a trend that I believe will continue to develop over time, which is why I chose to focus on expanding my online teaching career. The other equally important reason for moving into online teaching was my interest in and desire to work with people from around the globe- what an incredible opportunity! Finally, I find myself after many years back in Greece realizing my long-term dream of starting my own business where I can share with others my knowledge of and passion for the English language. Nothing brings me more joy and fulfilment than helping others attain their language learning goals and supporting them through the often challenging but always exciting path of learning a new language. I always strive to make each students’ learning experience a unique one; one filled with support, patience and encouragement. I have had the fortune of working with truly wonderful individuals who have inspired me and continue to inspire me, and who remind me- though I never need reminding!-just why I became an English teacher. I hope that we will have the opportunity to meet and work together very soon. Sincerely, Karolina Thomoglou PLEASE NOTE: Last minute and same day cancellations will NOT be refunded unless there is an emergency situation. I am a fully qualified English Teacher from Bristol, England. I hold a Masters with Distinction in History from the University of Birmingham and have lectured at Kings College London and University College London (UCL). Prior to this I received full training and certification as a teacher in the UK. I've been teaching for years and I really love it. During my career I've gained lots of experience with all types of students and levels. I've had students who don't know the days of the week all the way up to students studying for the Cambridge Proficiency Exam. Presently I specialise in the intermediate and advanced levels, helping students to improve their level for professional purposes or to gain certificates to access higher education. Whatever the exact level of the student, my general approach is more or less the same. I am able to quickly ascertain a student's capability from a short conversation and use this to design a tailor-made plan of study. Depending on the needs of the student, this could include specific areas of grammar that need work or aspects of writing skills. Classes are heavily based in conversation practice and correction, with the necessary study elements taught at different points during the 60 minute talk. In this way, subjects can be covered with speed, with concise follow-up homework tasks reaffirming this knowledge gained in class - then ready for revision in the following session. My approach attempts to avoid the burden of language study with short, focused tasks as part of dynamic sessions. The combination of this with a tailor-made package of study enables the student to progress much more rapidly than in traditional group study. Furthermore, such a technique is particularly useful for online 1-on-1 learning, an area I have been working in exclusively for the last 3 years, delivering over 4,000 sessions! Finally, I strongly believe that students need to be relaxed and enjoying themselves to get the most from sessions. I endeavour to achieve this as a teacher by ensuring a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and through this, delivering dynamic and engaging sessions, pushing the student to achieve their full potential improve rapidly. Get in touch and we can work together to create a programme of learning that works for you and sees you progress with speed!
Do you want to improve your fluency with one of the most experienced, knowledgeable and fun teachers online? Well look no further! I have 15 years' experience teaching English at all levels. If you need to build your confidence, I got you covered. If you need help preparing for an exam, an interview, or a business trip, I also got you covered. I can help you, I promise. My style involves gently evaluating the student as we speak. I start off with simple questions, and judging by their answers, adapt the level of difficulty. I have been the in-house teacher at a large Spanish manufacturer, giving English training to their staff since 2008. Our focus is mainly on business matters, but I also have private students whom I often prepare to take official exams. I'm a natural teacher with the gift of the gab. An hour passes very quickly in my dynamic and challenging classes. I also provide after-class support; give and correct homework. I usually end up becoming great friends with my students. I am confident I can give any student, anywhere exactly what they need to improve their academic, or professional English.

Hello! I love talking to people and facilitating their learning. I have a post-graduate teaching qualification (PGCE) from the UK and TEFL certificate, with a wide experience in education, and I have given courses to people aged 3-63 for several years. I have also recently completed a Teaching IELTS and a Business English TEFL course. I aim to create a relaxed and enjoyable teaching environment, whilst being thorough and working with each student's needs, and I am easy to talk to! So don't worry if you are nervous or don't feel confident - I can help you with that. Have you forgotten your English? Know how to read and write, but afraid to speak...? Would you like to practise your English more often? I can help you to improve your English! The sessions concentrate on the practical use of the language, conversation and pronunciation. They are mainly intended to be a relaxed and enjoyable method of learning and to get used to speaking, but can also be combined with grammar and can be adapted to suit all ages and levels (although I am not currently taking complete beginners, sorry). I can also offer intensive courses. I often work with students of intermediate-advanced levels to help perfect their spoken English. I have helped students prepare for IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge speaking exams - a recent student of mine got 111/120 on the TOEFL exam! I have also assisted students with confidence, to achieve more natural rhythm and intonation, and even issues concerning being understood, communicating effectively, politeness and cultural differences in language!! **Dear current students! If you can't find the time you want, you can send me a message**
