Hello everyone, my name is Carl and I was born in Canada. I have a passion for teaching, and believe teaching like learning should be fun to get the most out of it. I focus on Pronunciation using Phonetics (what does it sound like). Most of my students struggle, because they are still using their native sounds while speaking English, which is why they usually have a strong accent. In my classes we keep it simple and go back to basics, discussing the sounds that each letter of the English Alphabet make, it’s Vowels and Consonants, and then moving on to Syllables and how that changes the Intonation of their speaking. Speaking is sound, and sound is physical, it is all about the parts of the mouth being in the correct position, so if the parts of your mouth are in the same position as mine, we will make the same sound. You don’t have to think about it, it just happens. There are 26 letters in the English Alphabet, but there are a minimum of between 39 and 48 sounds, depending on which accent you wish to use. It is much easier for you to memorize 48 sounds than it is to memorize 4,000 words! Once you do this, you will have a neutral accent, and then you can decide how you wish to change these to sound more American, English or Australian etc. So if you are determined to improve your English Language Skills, and you are looking for a teacher who believes that teaching and learning are about having fun while learning in order to produce the best results I hope you will contact me, and give me an opportunity to help you achieve your goals. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
I teach English for students who want to improve their speaking and listening abilities and work towards having stress-free, interesting and fluent conversations in English. In every class you will: - Spend the majority of the lesson speaking - Discuss a topic of your own choice - Receive detailed written feedback at the end of the class detailing your mistakes, achievements and what you have learned - (optional) Receive a homework assignment - Every 6th class we will have a test where you will recall and consolidate all of the new vocabulary and grammar we have covered I think that the most important part of learning a language is feeling comfortable and confident expressing yourself. All of my classes are geared towards practicing English through conversation in order to organically discover new grammar concepts, vocabulary and errors. No matter what your level I can help you have a fun and productive conversation in English! I also speak French and Mandarin Chinese at an intermediate level for beginners who need a little support in their native language.

Hi, My Name is Jared. I'm a native English teacher from New Zealand and I have been working in education for over 8 years. I hold a TESOL certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. More importantly my experience includes over 8000 hours of online English Classes and I have taught in both the academic and outdoor education sectors. Teaching is something I love so much because not only can I teach from my experiences, I can also learn a lot from my student's experiences. Currently, I am living and working in South America, where I myself am a language student. My style is heavily based on conversational English with an emphasis on teaching pronunciation and vocabulary in fun and interesting ways.
FUN ENGLISH LESSONS FOR ALL - 4 years of teaching experience - 2 years of teaching online I FOCUS ON: - Conversation (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced) - CV and Interview Preparation - Reading comprehension (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced) - Beginner's Grammar - Tailored lessons (let me know what you need!) I have taught in Hong Kong as a fully time teacher for children aged 2-17. I taught private classes as well as group classes and all sorts of lessons, including reading comprehension, grammar, conversation and phonics. I have taught in Nepal and Africa also, as part of charity initiatives and as a long term volunteer teacher in Ghana. I always find teaching to be an incredibly rewarding experience. I enjoy learning about different cultures and countries and have very much enjoyed teaching abroad. I enjoy helping people learn as education and learning has always been important to me. I believe that people learn much better when they are passionate about something and that is a big focus of my lessons. I am happy to teach all facets of language learning i.e. grammar, conversation or reading but simply think that if these are approached around a topic that the learner cares about the student will learn quicker and more efficiently. So, for example, if you are particularly interested in football, India or baking then I will structure lessons so that your English learning is relevant to you. After all, an extra language is there to help you make greater connections and improve you life. More about me: I enjoy lots of different subjects and am always happy to learn new ones and discuss them with you. I enjoy reading, classics such as Jane Austen and Fitzgerald to modern works like A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) and Harry Potter. I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, running and fishing. I love photography too, particularly landscape photography and am always trying to improve my shots. I like to knit, cook, bake and I absolutely love dogs, particularly my dog Ruby. I also enjoy yoga and meditation. I love to travel and have been many places in Europe, from Greece, to France and Spain to places as far as Australia, Zambia, Nepal and America. I am a patient and understanding teacher and look forward to meeting you soon!
I am a native English speaker with 16 years experience teaching English as a foreign language. During my teaching career, I have taught hundreds of private students and currently have a number of students, aged from 3 years to adult, including teenagers preparing for examinations required for entry to university. In addition to this I have worked in several private academies where the students have been of all ages and many working towards cambridge exams PET, FCE and CAE. Whilst working at Isabell International School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I was solely responsible for every aspect with the English Department. During the summer months over the last six years, I have worked at several Summer Schools as part of the teaching team. I have been teaching English online for the last 6 months. I like to use a variety of resources including course books and online interactive materials. Some adults have required everyday conversation and these sessions, based on dialogue and role-play, have been tailor made to their individual needs. I have also taught several groups of Chinese students in Almunecar, Spain, and these classes were geared specifically to the restaurant business. I value highly the elicitation of answers rather than rote learning. I believe in the importance of making each lesson interesting, varied and fun, while ensuring that the basic language skills: speaking; listening; reading; writing, as well as: grammar; vocabulary; pronunciation are covered. I am an independent, hardworking and reflective person who enjoys a challenge. I use my initiative when teaching to enable me to be flexible and adaptable. I am friendly and approachable and this enables me to communicate effectively with both my peers and with students. I believe that humour is a great tool in the teaching and learning process. I take a great interest in people which allows me to be open and this encourages openness in return, allowing the teaching and learning process to be successful. In 2002, I carried out an intensive one month CELTA course, at Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne, and gained a distinction. In addition to this I hold a first class Bachelor of Science Degree. Having lived in Spain for 16 years, I am a competent Spanish speaker.
